Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at adrian_patterson@masterchessclub.com if you have any other questions.

Lessons are conducted via Zoom. A meeting link will be sent within 24 hours of registration. Sessions are interactive and designed to feel engaging, not passive.

Each lesson is structured and interactive. Sessions may include guided instruction, problem-solving, game or position analysis, and discussion of key ideas. Students are encouraged to think through positions and explain their reasoning. If it is the student's first lesson, an evaluation may be conducted to structure future lessons appropriately.

No special materials are required. Students only need a device with internet access. Any additional resources or practice suggestions will be provided as needed.

Lessons are designed for students of varying experience levels, from newer players to those looking to play more competitively. Instruction is adjusted to meet each student where they are and focuses on understanding the game, not just memorization.

Lessons are best suited for school-aged students. Instruction is adapted based on age, experience, and learning style.

Single lessons are available, but meaningful improvement usually comes from consistency. A short commitment of four lessons is recommended so students can build skills over time, apply feedback, and track progress.

If you're unsure whether online private lessons, online group lessons, or in-group options are the best fit, feel free to reach out. I'm happy to help guide you.

Refunds must be made within 24 hours of the service purchased. Booking and convenience fees will be applied.
